Happy INSD Weekend!

INSD?  International Scrapbook Day, of course!

If you're a digital scrapbooker, you've been scouring the web looking for great deals on supplies!  My download folder is happy; my Paypal account is not.  LOL.

I'm so excited to get scrapping with what I've bought.......but in the meantime, I've got a freebie for you made with a kit by Adriana's Cafe called "Mad Birds."  Here's a preview of the 6x4 journal box or photo frame made from the kit.

You can download here!

Here's the layout I created with the kit:

Happy INSD weekend, y'all!  :)

Here's some of my latest layouts.  I am in love with the Sweet Shoppe Designs Pinterest Challenge (Look here......http://pinterest.com/inspiredbyssd/april-portfolio/).  It has helped me stay focused and scrap so much more!

This layout was created using Kristin Cronnin-Barrow's kit "Here Comes Trouble."  It was the perfect kit for this mischievous picture of my cutie nephew, Jackson.

This layout was created using Zoe Pearn's kit "Sweet as Sugar."  I love my baby girl.

And this gorgeous kit by Jennifer Labre Designs is called "Lilacs in Bloom."  It's the perfect kit for those soft, springy layouts.

One more for now....it's a layout of my favorite John Mark McMillan song, "How He Loves Us."  I used the kit "Shabby Black & White" by Elise's Pieces.

You Don't Want to Miss This!

In May I will be a guest member of the creative team for Adriana's Cafe at Scraps-N-Pieces (www.scraps-n-pieces.com) and Stuff to Scrap (www.stufftoscrap.com).  As I'm gearing up for this I found out that this awesome kit is only $2.00 today at Stuff to Scrap!!  It's called "Another Autumn Day" and has 16 papers, 40 elements and 1 alphabet.  Holy moly!  Go get it today and don't miss out!

All NEW & Shiny

It's my new crafting blog! Why a new one you may ask? Well, I forgot the sign in for the other one. I have tried every combination I can think of but apparently that blog is meant to forever float in the Land of Abandoned Blogs. Maybe in a state of enlightenment I will remember the sign in information but chances are that by then I will have expanded this blog and won't want to use that blog. At least I'd be able to delete it.

And just like that it took one paragraph for me to totally digress. I digress a lot. Just so you know. If you're okay with that then keep coming back.

So......here's the scoop. I love to craft. I am just learning to sew and hoping to increase my skill level beyond the "that looks like a monkey sewed it" stage. Actually, a monkey could probably sew better than I could but let's not even delve into the world of sewing monkeys.

I also LOVE to digital scrapbook. I am a freelance photographer so digital scrapbooking is a natural fit for me. Plus I have a cool MacBook Pro that I count as my 3rd child. Will someone please tell what is better than cuddling up in bed, watching "Golden Girls" and digital scrapbooking? NOTHING. Unless you throw in a bag of M&Ms and then it must be like Heaven.

I knit, I crochet, I cross-stitch (very poorly, I might add) and sometimes I will paper craft as well. Lord knows I still have enough supplies for a small store and while I have a penchant for exaggeration, this is not one of those times (much to my husband's chagrin). About once a year he tries to convince me to sell all of my supplies but I just know there is going to be this one perfect moment when the universe reveals its purpose for my excessive craft supply and THEN I will be vindicated. Until then I have to endure his occasional rants and block the entrance to my craft room every time he threatens to go in there. It's like my sacred space. And really that's why I craft....it's my happy place.

So welcome to my scrappy round world. I hope you'll keep coming back. And I hope I don't lose my password this time.
